The receiver of Datatype Ltd, (CI No 727) Price Waterhouse’s Stephen Hancock, says he has had around 30 approaches for the Welsh terminal manufacturer and distributor; he hopes to sell the company within a week and while he won’t specify to which companies he has been talking, he does admit that several of the following: Pericom Plc, Cifer Plc, Microvitec Plc, Sigmex International Plc, CPU Computers Plc, DRI Holdings Ltd and Mellordata Ltd, are amongst those interested; Hancock says Datatype was heading for a turnover of around UKP4m this year, substantially down on 1986.
