The scandal over RealNetworks Inc’s RealJukebox collecting users’ global unique identifiers (GUIDs) and listening habits has taken a fresh twist with the filing of a class-action lawsuit against the company. Pennsylvania law firm Sheller, Ludwig and Bailey, most famous for initiating the Year 2000 bug class action suit, have sued RealNetworks to obtain compensation and other relief for the users of RealJukebox. RealNetworks must be held accountable for its conduct, said partner Jonathan Shub in a statement. We think the suit is completely without merit, and we intend to defend ourselves vigorously, RealNetworks representative Tom Frank told ComputerWire.
