RBC Bank Appoints New Technology, Operations Executive

To oversee back office operations and align technology services and capabilities

RBC Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Joseph Cooper as senior vice president of technology and operations for RBC Bank. In this role, Mr Cooper will be responsible for overseeing day to day back office operations as well as strategically aligning technology services and capabilities for both the company and its clients. He will be based at RBC Bank’s corporate headquarters in Raleigh.

Prior to joining RBC Bank, Mr Cooper spent 15 years at First Citizens Bank and Trust, most recently as the executive vice president of technology and operations. Prior to his tenure with First Citizens, he spent 16 years at Bank of America serving in a number of technology management roles.

Scott Custer, CEO of RBC Bank, said: “Mr Cooper’s vast experience and expertise in the technology and operations functions make him a great leader for the bank.”

Mr Cooper said: “I am excited to be joining the RBC Bank team. I look forward to working with the technology and operations groups to enhance the bank’s processes and systems and to ultimately provide a superior client experience.”
