RATIONAL HAS COMPONENT-BASED ERROR DETECTION PACKAGE FOR NT

Cupertino, California-based Rational Software Corp believes it has come up with the industry’s only comprehensive error detection package for component-based software development that runs on Windows NT. The company has announced the immediate availability of version 5.0 of its Purify product which includes two new functions, PowerCheck and WinCheck that enable the NT- compatible product to accurately and quickly highlight errors and memory leaks in component-based applications developed using Microsoft Corp’s Visual C++ and Web-based applications that incorporate ActiveX controls.
