Rank Xerox (UK) Ltd has three further document processing software products with the release of Viewpoint 2.0, an upgrade of the software for Xerox 6085 workstations, the Ventura 2.0 family for desktop publishing and Xerox Presents, a graphics software product for business presentations. Rank Xerox claims the Viewpoint 2.0 upgrade provides a range of document creation and office publishing enhancements, including redlining, which enables users to monitor changes in documents that undergo frequent revisions, plus four new publishing fonts. Viewpoint 2.0, available in early 1989, includes an integrated DEC VT220 terminal emulation facility, and an IGES convertor that enables CAD/CAM drawings to be incorporated into ViewPoint documents. The company says the Ventura 2.0 line provides users of Ventura Publisher 1.1 with over 70 new features, and claims Xerox Presents – developed with Cricket Software Inc – allows presentations on a range of MS-DOS micros, and attempts to simplify business presentations by providing a range of visual functions within a Microsoft Windows environment.
