Radius UK Ltd is now shipping VideoVision PCI, the latest version of its VideoVision Studio digital video board for PCI Macintoshes. The product captures and outputs full-frame, full motion composite and S-Video in either NTSC or PAL television formats, along with synchronized 16-bit audio and 34-bit color. It is QuickTime-compatible, so customers can use it with off-the-shelf applications and is designed to work with Power Macintosh 7500, 8500 and 9500s. Because it supports convolution when v iewing a Macintosh desktop on an NTSC or PAL monitor it provides flicker-free work space without sacrificing quality during video playback, Radius said. Video-Vision PCI is bundled with Radius Edit 2.0 and special effects software Adobe After Effect s 3.0 and is priced at 4,000 British pounds, about $6,000. Existing users of Video-Vision Studio, which is NuBus-compatible, will be able to get the product at a reduced priced and still be able to keep their existing NuBus board, the Old Woking, UK -based company said. New features with Radius Edit 2.0 include unlimited layering, audio rubber-banding and re-digitization enhancements, as well as special effects filters to offer integrated compositing and animation control.
