Global VoIP service provider Radius Communications has selected communications infrastructure company PortaOne’s PortaSwitch IP multimedia subsystem as the main software platform to drive its wholesale and residential/business VoIP services.
Radius, which has points of presence in the UK and US, intends to soon expand its operations into Europe and Australia, with a goal of capturing market share on each of those continents.
According to PortaOne, PortaSwitch is an integrated communication services and subscriber management system that allows IP telephony services providers to unify voice, data and fax traffic within a single network. The Class 5 product consists of a softswitch and application servers, delivering SIP call control, unified messaging, IP Centrex and hosted IP PBX, voice VPN, callback management, billing and provisioning, and much more.
Roman Khalenkov, sales and marketing director for PortaOne, said: Radius Communications is a forward-thinking company that is intent on providing a full range of IP services in multiple regions of the world. PortaSwitch is able to support virtually all critical services–from VoIP to wireless hot spots, calling cards to teleconferencing and hosted IP PBX. With PortaSwitch, Radius will be able to offer more minutes, and more services, to more customers in more places than ever before.
