RADIUS FINDS THE QUALITY MAKES UP FOR LACK OF QUANTITY; FOREIGN SALES GROW

By CBR Staff Writer

Radius Plc has reported pre-tax profits for the six months ended 31 May 1990 at UKP1.4m against just over UKP1m for the same period last year. This was on turnover up 8% at UKP14.5m. Radius says that trading conditions remain difficult in the hardware distribution market, but it is particularly pleased with sales of its fourth generation language-based printing and packaging management system for ICL DRS 6000 machines. The system is also being marketed by ICL Nederland BV for the Benelux countries, and Radius says that overseas sales have increased across the group. The company acknowledges that sales of systems and services decreased in number, but says that the shortfall has been compensated for by the increased value of individual contracts.
