RADIUS CHAIMAN COMMENTS ON HALF-YEAR FIGURES

By CBR Staff Writer

Edward Sharp, chairman of Hull-based systems and maintenance group Radius Plc, said that that due to the increased competitive conditions in equipment supply and maintenance he believed the group’s policy of developing software and support services represents the correct strategy; speaking at the group’s half year figures meeting (see Company Results p5) he revealed that contributions from recent acquisitions had been varied: ABT was only marginally profitable, suffering from internal organisational problems and the delay in the introduction of a suitable Unix machine from Data General, while Radius CBSL traded satisfactorily, he said that the indications were that the merger of MGB Systems Plc into Radius was going smoothly.
