RADGUARD SIMPLIFIES THE FIREWALL ART

By CBR Staff Writer

Little-heard-of Tel Aviv firewall vendor Radguard Ltd says it is making it far simpler to install a firewall by using a wizard to guide a user through the set-up process. The company is using the wizard for its PyroWall hardware-based firewall, which is said to operate as a ‘black box’, requiring no user knowledge of operating systems. It claims firewalls are now being installed by an increasing number of small companies, which may lack the technical expertise available to larger corporations. Designed to address this demand, the security wizard guides the user through defining the security policy, and recognizes the common network setups, graphically suggesting secure setups to the administrator. It then generates a security policy table based on the needs of the user, which can be edited if required. Radguard’s security gateways and firewalls are turnkey hardware/software combines.
