Racal Telecommunications Plc ordered a further 17 AXE telephone exchanges from Ericsson Telecom to expand the Vodafone cellular radio telephone network. The new order, worth close to UKP40m, covers 12 additional mobile switching centres and four for a new transit network to increase capacity and flexibility. Ericsson now claims 40% of the world cellular phone switch market.
