RACAL TO PUT ITS DEFENCE BUSINESS INTO JOINT VENTURE ?

By CBR Staff Writer

Racal features in another Sunday Telegraph story, this time in regard to its defence businesses, which the paper suggests it may be ready to put into a joint venture a la the 50-50 Orbitel Mobile Communications between itself and Plessey Co Plc, and the latter’s GEC Plessey Telecommunications Group venture with GEC Plc: Plessey is again suggested as the partner here, but it could instead turn out to be some kind of deal with Thorn EMI Plc, which is believed to want either to restructure or to sell its rather small defence electronics business.
