Racal Telecommunications Plc has joined a consortium led by Australian industrial company Pacific Dunlop Pty Ltd to explore possibilities that may arise following the proposed reform of the Australian telecommunications sector currently dominated by Australian Telecom Corp, the Overseas Telecommunications Commission and Aussat Pty Ltd: Pacific Dunlop states that the consortium will be 75% Australian-owned – other members include Exicom and Australian Mutual Providence Society, but it has given no further details on the ownership.
