Reading, Berkshire-based Racal-Redac (UK) Ltd has won a series of orders worth UKP2.2m from GEC Plessey Telecommunications Ltd for its computer aided engineering, design and manufacturing software suite, Visula Plus, which runs on Apollo, DEC and Sun workstations: the order includes systems for hierarchic schematic capture, digital simulation up to board level, printed circuit board layout tools, and postprocessing interfaces to Universal and Fuji automatic mounting machines; the current UKP2.2m deal is for 41 Visula Plus workstations to be installed by May which will bring the total number of Visula systems installed at GEC Plessey to 100 or so.
