RACAL ELECTRONICS SELLS HALF OF ITS SMALL HOLDING IN THE COMPANY

Racal Electronics Plc really had the market guessing about its intentions yesterday when it annnounced that it had sold half of its small holding in Racal Electronics Plc at 320 pence a share, fivepence shy of the then price in the market, realising UKP27m: the shares were bought by brokers Smith New Court: some had expected it to bid for Racal in order to gain control of Racal Vodafone; if so, any such move looks highly unlikely now.
