Qume Ltd, the Reading, Berkshire-based computer peripherals manufacturer, feels poised to meet the new European Community directive on Working with VDUs which is to be enforced next year: the company has added another low-radiation terminal to its Series 1 range; in addition to VDUs, the directive will cover the environmental friendliness of lighting, seating, desks and anything associated with the well-being of the user; the Qume QVT 321 has low emission levels as standard and optional zero electrostatic discharge from the screen; as with the rest of the range, it meets the VDEB standards for low electrical discharge; the new ANSI terminal provides DEC VT320 emulation; a 14 cathode ray tube monochrome screen with four pages of memory is UKP475.
