QUINTEK HAS A FAST9 TRANSPUTER BOARD FOR THE IBM AT

The Fast9 Transputer board for the IBM AT comes fitted with a bank of nine Inmos microprocessors, either T414s or T800s, and is now being delivered by developer Quintek Ltd of Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol: with its inbuilt 64-bit floating processor the Fast9 is claimed to bring a computing performance of 13.5 MFLOPS to one AT expansion slot – the T414-based board costs UKP8,995 and the T800 is priced at UKP10,950.
