The companies previewed a new collection of snow apparel and accessories that provide wireless stereo music and mobile phone communications at the SIA conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The collection integrates Quicksilver’s outdoor wear, under both the Roxy and Quicksilver brands, with Bluetooth-equipped mobile phones, iPods and MP3 players.
Plantronics technology is embedded within the Quiksilver apparel and accessories, enabling stereo sound to stream wirelessly from compatible products so that users can play and control music as well as answer incoming calls at the touch of a button. According to the companies, this will allow users to more easily access their music and mobile calls while skiing or snowboarding, without the worry of wires.
Renee Niemi, general manager and vice president of mobile and entertainment for Plantronics, said: This new premium line of Bluetooth-equipped apparel and accessories creates a pure and seamless experience for sports enthusiasts – they can go from one environment to the next while staying continuously connected to their music and friends.
