Quicksilva, a supplier of IT healthcare systems, has teamed up with IGspectrum to help hospitals across London share patient data more efficiently.

IGspectrum’s automation technology will send patient data to admission and discharge forms, while Quicksilva’s integration solution, ConneQt, will then send the forms to the relevant social care department.

The service should help NHS staff at Whipps Cross University Hospital and Royal Free London Hospital to update, produce and share the relevant forms in real time with the correct social care department.

Stephen Rapicano, managing director of IGspectrum, said: "They are able to access the relevant information they need to automatically create and share digital discharge notices. It is simply about providing a better patient service for vulnerable adults in London hospitals."

Gayna Hart, managing director of Quicksilva, added: "This partnership is all about helping health providers meet the Government initiative to ‘go digital by 2018’…To do this the services need to be integrated, the processes designed and automated in a way that ensures accurate and timely availability of patient records. It is a step towards joined-up NHS and Social Care services."

The partnership comes after research showed NHS trust heads demanding extra funding from the government to achieve the health department’s goal of becoming paperless by 2018.
