IT management services provider Quest has released four new Toad Multi-Database suites to support database administrators and developers with managing heterogeneous database environments.
The suites provide deep functionality for Oracle, SQL Server, and IBM DB2 LUW administration and development, said the company.
Each suite is customised for either the developer or DBA.
The Xpert suite is claimed by the company to take the nuances of each database platform into account, providing a deep level of development functionality in addition to querying and reporting, data modeling and SQL validation from three multi-platform Toad products.
The Developer suite provides developers all of the functionality in Xpert. In addition, it provides improved code quality, performance and maintainability, said the company.
The DB Admin suite provides DBAs with the functionality available in Xpert, plus additional administration functionality including database health checks and task automation.
Finally, the DBA suite includes all of the functionality in DB Admin, plus the ability to automate maintenance, ensure optimal performance, and mitigate the risk of change, said the company.
Quest said that each of the four Toad Multi-DB Suites are built to address different roles and levels of expertise, while providing the familiarity and functionality users have come to expect in Toad.
