The new release enables enterprises to leverage cloud-based performance monitoring technology for applications built on the Windows Azure platform

By CBR Staff Writer

IT management and systems management applications provider Quest Software has introduced a new application performance monitoring (APM) application called Foglight for Windows Azure Applications which will be available via software-as-a-service (SaaS).

The application is available as beta version will allow IT administrators to monitor performance and understand the end user’s experiences with Windows Azure-based applications.

Foglight for Windows Azure Application enables enterprises to leverage cloud-based performance monitoring technology for applications built on the Windows Azure platform as well as allows IT administrators to know how end users interact with these applications.

The new release gives application owners and operators the insight at a glance into the current and historical availability, as well as the health of the application and its supporting infrastructure. It also gives the ability to understand problems, their impact and probable cause.

Quest’s Foglight for Windows Azure Applications gives insight into the quality of service experienced by the application’s users and a geographical view of performance and user location.

It also helps application owners and operators in understanding performance issues related to browser types, mobile device and other user agents, identifying compatibility issues and showing how users access the application.

Quest Software Performance Monitoring vice president and general manager Steve Rosenberg said, "With the introduction of Foglight for Windows Azure Applications, we now offer performance monitoring solutions that enable enterprise IT departments to have a true picture of the end user’s actual experience with Windows Azure-based applications, quickly and proactively pinpoint performance issues, and resolve those issues before they impact the business."
