Quest Software has introduced new, agentless offerings which the company says provide SharePoint administrators with the ability to complete installation and begin migrating in less than five minutes without changing existing infrastructure or server configuration.

These products are the latest additions to the company’s SharePoint product portfolio, which provides simple, focused and fast offerings for SharePoint administrators.

Migration Suite for SharePoint is a new, all-in-one product that can facilitate migrations from SharePoint on-premises, SharePoint Online, BPOS, Windows File Servers, Exchange Server Public Folders, and Outlook to either SharePoint on-premises or SharePoint Online.

This new, agentless suite, with a single installation and single license key, provides flexibility for SharePoint administrators, enabling them to add functionality and features as they are needed.

For SharePoint administrators looking to migrate to SharePoint Online only, Migrator for SharePoint Online provides an agentless, single install, single license key offering, the company said.

Quest also upgraded features to Migration Manager for SharePoint (migrate information from SharePoint 2003 and SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010), Public Folder Migrator for SharePoint (migrate Exchange Public Folder content to SharePoint on-premises), and File Migrator for SharePoint (migrate Windows file shares to SharePoint on-premises).

The new offerings provide flexible migration options which include bulk migrations; granular, item-level migrations; content filtering; and drag and drop feature for quick, single-item migrations.

Other features include metadata mapping, project management controls with real-time progress reporting and scheduling, and post-migration synchronisation.

Quest Software SharePoint and Notes Transition vice president and general manager Bill Evans said with their Migration Suite for SharePoint, we enable SharePoint administrators to use one tool to complete their migration projects, something that previously wasn’t available from any vendor.

"This provides powerful new functionality, and changes the way in which the SharePoint community views migration," Evans said.
