Strengthening the consensus, on September 5, Quantum Corp of Milpitas, California is expected to join the fray with a 2.5 line ranging in capacity from 20Mb to an impressive 120Mb. Already contending with 2.5 drives are pioneer PrairieTek Corp, Conner Peripherals Inc and Japanese Victor Co, JVC. Seagate Technology is also working on 2.5 drives, as is Maxtor Corp’s latest prize, MiniScribe. According to Electronic News, Quantum is also preparing to add 1 high 3.5 drives in capacities ranging from 120Mb to 170Mb.
