QUADRAM SHIPS MAINLINK II 3270 BOARD

By CBR Staff Writer

Quadram Corp, Norcross, Georgia has begun shipping its MainLink II IBM 3270 emulation board in the US. MainLink II is compatible with both IBM and IRMA program interfaces, and also supports both Control Unit Terminal and Distributed Function Terminal modes. The $395 board, based on Chips and Technologies’ ChipsLink, the first single-chip protocol controller for 3270 terminal emulation. The board uses just 16 integrated circuits, reducing the required power to 25% of that required for an IRMA board) as well as the potential for enhanced reliability. Quadram also says it will be announcing its own emulation and file transfer software in late December at an undecided price but under $200.
