Qlogic has unveiled a new third-generation 10GbE converged networking portfolio – 3GCNA, which is based on the company’s Network Plus Architecture.

The new portfolio features a trio of products including 8200 Series 10GbE converged network adapters, 3200 Series 10GbE intelligent ethernet adapters and a converged LAN-on-motherboard (cLOM) offering.

Qlogic said that the products are designed to address the requirements of virtualised data centres, cloud service providers and the converged enterprise.

The new products provides ability to run offloaded fibre channel over ethernet (FcoE); iSCSI and IP (ethernet) traffic concurrently; perform switch-agnostic; virtual machine (VM)-to-VM communication within physical machines; and deploy quad 1GbE and dual 10GbE ports from a single chip.

In addition, 3GCNA portfolio offers four different capabilities including concurrent protocol processing services, advanced virtualisation services, multiple protocol offload services and data security services.

QLogic Host Solutions Group vice president of marketing Amit Vashi said, with the new 3GCNA portfolio, customers can now achieve extreme efficiencies in their data and storage networking environments that were previously unattainable.
