In a seven-year deal worth AUD 120m ($90m), TCS will support and maintain the airline’s main applications for airport operations and commercial systems. It said the deal is the largest offshore delivery contract ever awarded by an Australian organization.

In a separate AUD 71m ($55m) contract, Satyam will develop and maintain 150 other applications over a seven-year period. Satyam has previously worked with Qantas to roll out an Oracle eBusiness system.

Australia has emerged as a key target market for India’s big software services suppliers. TCS has just made its second acquisition in Australia and it now has more than 500 employees in the country. Satyam said it has a headcount of more than 1,000 support clients in Australia and New Zealand, where it has contracts with nine of the 500 largest companies.
