The new solution aims to provide manufacturers with a consistent way of implementing business-to-business integration on a worldwide basis. It combines QAD’s core software including its MFG/PRO and EDI ECommerce solutions with Sterling Commerce’s Gentran Integration Suite (GIS), its B2B suite for multi-enterprise collaboration, plus implementation services and support from QAD.

The QAD and Sterling products have been pre-configured to work together and QAD will resell the GIS suite.

The partnership builds on existing work the two vendors have engaged in with joint customers such as flash memory data storage card provider SanDisk, and the expertise they have developed configuring their solutions to work together to implement integrated e-commerce platforms, in a cost effective manner.

A key benefit of the combined solution is said to be the ability for organizations to easily extend the e-commerce platform to its business partners.
