PYRAMID SIGNS RELATIONAL TECHNOLOGY TO OPTIMISE INGRES FOR ITS RISCs

By CBR Staff Writer

Pyramid Technology has signed a multi-million dollar agreement with Relational Technology Inc, said to be the largest OEM contract with a software vendor in the company’s history. The three year agreement extends Pyramid’s worldwide rights to market the Ingres relational database management system, and calls for joint engineering exchanges to optimise Ingres for Pyramid’s RISC-based, Unix multiprocessor servers. The contract also provides open-ended co-marketing rights to Pyramid for all future Relational Technology products and covers pre-releases version of Relational’s software for early customisation and tuning.
