PUMA EXTENDS INTELLISYNC PALM SOFTWARE TO NOTES

By CBR Staff Writer

Looking to push its position in the nascent PDA to PC synchronization software market, Puma Technologies has added support for three applications to the latest release of its IntelliSync software for 3Com Corp’s Palm handheld computing platform. Version 3.1 adds support for sales force software by Oracle Corp’s Mobile sales and Marketing application (CI No 3,501) and the eponymous sales force automation package from SalesLogix Corp (CI No 3,536). Both companies have already used Puma’s SDK toolkit to add synchronization capabilities to their salesforce applications, and Oracle also incorporated Puma technology in its Oracle Lite mobile database. IntelliSync has also added synchronization support for the email component of Lotus Development Corp’s Notes groupware product. The product is shipping now, priced at $70.
