Bell Canada Inc reports that its Mediatel unit has introduced a public access kiosk for use in major airports and other high traffic areas in Quebec and Ontario: subscribers to Bell Canada’s The Net service can access electronic mail, information management and database services by entering an identification number and password; the general public can use the kiosk to fax documents for $2.50 per page within North America and $4 per page overseas, and can also use it to dial up modems for 60 cents a minute for local calls, $2.50 for North American calls and $4 for overseas dial-up calls – and the thing does accept credit cards.
