Boston, Massachusetts-based Ptech Inc has released a Windows NT and Windows 95 version of its FrameWork 5.0 object-oriented business process modeling and application development program. FrameWork, previously a Unix-only offering, is built around a KnowledgeBase module that captures and stores business models and their interactions. An Abstract Code Generator uses either Ptech’s own or a user-built templates to generate C++ header and source code, Fort Tool class definitions, Java or Corba IDL code or HTML reports from the Ptech business models. The NT and Windows 95 version of FrameWork still looks Unix-like, particularly the screens used to input information, but Ptech says that it is well on the way towards designing an upgrade, set for beta test in March, that will give the program a Windows look-and-feel.
