The UK arm of US internet service provider PSINet Inc will today launch an e-commerce-made-easy offering for the SME market, earmarked for a future roll-out across the rest of Europe. PSICommerce is a joint offering with UK online payment processor WorldPay Plc, which along with PSINet is part of the alliance which launched a similar service called NDC eCommerce, fronted by National Data Corp, in the US earlier this month.
In Europe, PSINet will provide the network backbone with WorldPay offering Click and Build, a web-based application that includes catalog building capabilities and the ability to handle single and multi-currency internet transactions.
The service, including value added tax, costs 125 pounds ($209) for registration with WorldPay, plus a monthly fee to PSINet, which varies depending on the amount of storage space required. For 25 pounds ($42) a month, the SME gets 10MB of space, which the company claims is typically enough for about 200 products.
