Commercial internet service provider PSINet Inc has bought two Austrian ISPs for undisclosed amounts as part of its rapid European expansion. Vienna-based CSO.Net and Tirol-based Netwing have both been around since 1995 and both serve the consumer and business access market. They will be combined and renamed PSINet Austria. PSINet says the new territory will give it an opportunity to expand into Eastern Europe.

Last week PSINet bought Intercomputer and ABAFoRUM, two Spanish ISPs, for undisclosed amounts. The company now has a presence in 10 European countries, and expects its revenues from the continent to overshadow those from the US within the next few years, but has yet to break into the potentially lucrative Scandinavian market.
