PSINET BUYS TWO FRENCH ISPs

By CBR Staff Writer

PSINet Inc has bought two more companies, this time in France. It has snapped up Satelnet and Planete.net on undisclosed terms. Last year PSINet acquired 17 ISPs, paying for them with its accumulated pile of debt financing. Both of the French companies are predominantly commercial ISPs, like PSINet. Satelnet is based in Lyon and offers connectivity, hosting, wireless and security applications, while Planete.net, which is in Montreuil has a mix of consumers and business customers and offers dial-up, leased lines, hosting and consulting services. Neither company is expected to be accretive to earnings at any level for some time.
