Under terms of the agreement, Protiviti will combine its SarbOx Portal application with Tibco’s Staffware process management software to provide a bullet-proof foundation for creating, documenting, and monitoring internal financial reporting controls.

The solution is specifically aimed at Section 404 compliance which relates to internal policies, controls, and assessments for documenting and reporting financial results.

Protiviti’s SarbOX Portal will supply a central control repository for compliance-related documentation around which Staffware will craft the necessary processes and workflows.

Tibco’s Staffware Process Suite is based on business process management and workflow technologies the company picked up from its acquisition last July of UK-based Staffware Plc.

According to AMR Research, technology will account for nearly 30% of the $6.1bn that companies are forecasts to spend on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives this year.

Menlo Park, California-based Protiviti is wholly owned by Robert Half International Inc, a $2.7bn international staffing firm.
