PROTEON INTRODUCES OVERVIEW

By CBR Staff Writer

Proteon Ltd, the Nottingham-based company which supplies networking systems, has introduced a new system, OverView, which can monitor and control multivendor, multiprotocol enterprise wide networks and is part of the p2350 family: designed for network systems that are interconnected with Proteon’s own routers, the p4200s, use its proprietary ProNet 80, and operate the industry standard protocols for simple gateway monitoring and simple network management, OverView can provide centralised network management capabilities; for example, the system can monitor and control internetworks linking local area departmental systems such as Ethernet and Token Ring, with wide area networks such as 64Kbps and CEPT running protocols including TCP/IP, Xerox Network System and DECnet.
