Prosoft, the largest Bulgarian computer distributor, is understood to be close to signing exclusive rights to distribute Seiko-Epson Co printers in the country after a fiercely contested battle which left a trail of acrimony in the local reseller community. Prosoft president Julian Genov estimated that the firm’s revenues would rise from $10m in 1992 to between $14m and $15m for 1993. Prosoft became the first IBM Corp channel support distributor in the country in 1992, selling some 1,000 personal computers. The company, which credits itself for pioneering western marketing techniques in Bulgaria now rivals Coca-Cola Co as an advertiser on national television according to local press reports. Prosoft also recently signed an exclusive contract with Aldus Corp.
