PRODUCT DELAYS HAMMER CONTROL DATA PROFITS

By CBR Staff Writer

Arden Hills, Minnesota-based Control Data Systems Inc doesn’t appear to be too worried by its second-quarter profits slump and is confident the business will take a turn for the better in the next quarter. The enterprise systems software and services integration company saw second-quarter net income fall 26.3% to $2.7m with revenue down 20.2% at $60.3m. The company says sales in the quarter were affected by product delays in its Enterprise Integration Services and Product Design divisions. But Control Data is trying to reassure the market and president and chief operating officer, Jim Ousley commented: Both segments continue to make good progress in their selected markets. However, these opportunities are taking longer to close and fulfill than expected, he insisted.
