Prodigy Communications Corp has launched a Spanish-language version of its online and web service aimed at the Spanish- speaking population in the US. It offers all the same services as the English version and also includes technical and customer support in Spanish and home pages can be toggled between the two languages. There are estimated to be about eight million Hispanic households in the US. Rivals, including America Online Inc only offer services is Spanish in countries outside the US. The service costs $20 per month and advertising begins on local television in Miami and Chicago initially, spreading to other markets in the coming weeks.
