Apart from tighter integration with Microsoft’s new database 6.1 — officials say the product was developed in conjunction with SQL Server 2005 — the 6.1 release includes new features and upgrades to the core platform including support for Microsoft’s new Unified Dimensional Model (UDM), which blends relational reporting with multidimensional analysis into a single user experience.

ProClarity 6.1 simplifies the navigation of the UDM through its understanding of hierarchy, attribute, and measure relationships which assists in the creation of analytic views.

Also new in 6.1 is the ProClarity Dashboard Server, which serves up consolidated views of business metrics and charts.

ProClarity is also releasing updated add-ins for the ProClarity Analytics 6 platform in January for new SQL Server BI components like Reporting Services, Notification Services (alerts), Business Scorecard Manager (dashboarding) and SharePoint Portal Server.

Boise, Idaho-based ProClarity is one of a cadre of BI solutions vendors that have thrown their technology lots with Microsoft’s BI technology.
