Prism Solutions Inc is adding new bells and whistles to its data warehousing products. A graphical Schedule Manager is being offered for use with its Warehouse Executive product, which provides planning, scheduling and manages the transfer of data from active sources into a data warehouses or data marts. It can capture meta data and use it to audit changes to warehouse schedules, versions, conduct failure analysis, identify resource load demands, tune performance, and communicate the time jobs were run and the specific tables affected, the company claims. The schedule is a $7,500 option which includes Windows 95 and NT- based application services plus Unix-centric monitoring agents which cost from $1,000. Meantime Prism is making its Scaleable Data Warehousing Solutions packages available to Windows NT 4.0 clients, and offering new target database options for Oracle Parallel Load and Microsoft SQL Server on NT, plus support for IBM DB2 Parallel Edition as a source database and a server for a meta data directory. In addition Prism has extended its support for Tandem environments with direct reads of NonStop SQL source databases, support for Enscribe lookup tables, and the ability to map data from multiple source files into multiple NonStop SQL tables in a single program. It’s also created a new web-based access module for the Prism Warehouse Directory enabling users to navigate meta data from a browser. The new releases are due next month priced from $25,000
