Prism Solutions Inc, the Sunnyvale, California-based data warehousing company, is adding customer relationship software to its portfolio with an agreement to acquire Customer Focus International Inc, a company which has concentrated on software for the financial services industry. Orange, California-based CFI’s software uses the information garnered from a data warehouse to match customer profiles with appropriate products and services. Its software is used by a number of large banks, including the Allied Irish Bank, First Chicago NBD and the United Overseas Bank of Singapore. CFI reported revenues of $4.4m last year. Prism, which is acquiring CFI for approximately 2.8 million shares, expects to take on all of its staff, and keep CFI running from its current offices in Southern California, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Texas and Hawaii offices. Prism, which already has 100 financial institutions as its customers, says financial services represents a significant market opporunity for it.
