PRojects IN Controlled Environments, or Prince, version 2 can now be integrated seamlessly with IBM’s Rational Unified Process, according to the company, which is an IBM-Rational partner.

Cogenture’s offering includes a Prince2 plug-in that enables Prince2 process descriptions to be presented in a RUP viewer, combined with bespoke configuration and tailoring of a business’s integration needs by Cogenture consultants. Guidance is provided for every individual working on the project, the company said, ensuring a complete understanding of all processes for the smooth integration between Prince2 and RUP.

Howard Knowles, CEO at Cogenture, said the new offering will particularly benefit IT staff working on the growing number of e-government projects. Until now, organizations working in the public domain expended considerable time and effort trying to operate RUP and Prince2 in parallel, he said. Our new services enable developers to adopt Prince2 within a framework of management controls in a familiar RUP environment.
