PRIME TO LAY-OFF STAFF

Prime Computer Inc acknowledges that there will be lay-offs in manufacturing and corporate support following its acquisition of Computervision Corp, but responds to a Boston Globe report that 500 to 1,000 of its 13,500 employees will lose their jobs by saying exact numbers have not been determined.
