PRIME SUBSIDIARY WINS QUEENSLAND STATE CONTRACT

Prime Computer Inc’s Australian subsidiary has been awarded a $6.4m contract from the Queensland State Government to supply 33 Prime EXL 7000 systems for use by the Department of Employment, Vocational Education, Training, and Industrial Relations at 32 Technical Further Education colleges throughout Queensland: the contract is the largest ever won by Prime Australia, and the company was selected from a final field of four, including NCR Corp, ICL Plc and Unisys Corp; the systems will be used at each of the 32 colleges throughout Queensland for maintaining student records and administrative data; two additional Prime business units, PrimeService and Prime’s Systems Integration Business Unit, will also participate, providing support for the project, due for completion in 18 months; the contract includes 18 EXL 7330 systems, 15 EXL 7363s networked with high speed lines and Simple Network Management Protocol.
