The Systems Division of Priam Corp, San Jose, has moved into the market for packaged disk drives for Apple’s Macintosh Plus, SE and II with the MacDisk family: the external drives come in capacities of 40Mb, 65Mb, 100Mb and 230Mb, include interface cable, driver, utility software and installation and user manuals, and have a second SCSI port for daisychaining peripherals; average seek times go down to 20mS, ships start June, and prices are $1,900 for the EM40, $2,300 for the EM65, $2,700 for the EM100, and $4,000 for the EM230.
