PRIAM “WORKING ON 200Mb 3.5″ WINCHESTER”

By CBR Staff Writer

Even today, 5.25 Winchesters capable of storing 200Mb or more are the exception rather than the rule, but the ratchet of innovation is being wound up ever faster, and Priam Corp, San Jose, is reportedly working on a 3.5 Winchester that will store about 200Mb. According to Computer Systems News, the company hopes to unveil the new line at Comdex/Fall in November. Word is that it will come with ESDI and SCSI interfaces, and sport a racey average access time of under 18mS.
