Prestwick Holdings Plc, the Ayr-based printed circuit board manufacturer, has acquired Northumbria Circuits Ltd for UKP160,000. The company specialises in the manufacture of interconnection systems and it supplies flexible and flex-rigid multilayer circuits to the aerospace, computer, automotive and telecommunications markets. Located in Bedlington, Northumberland, Northumbria Circuits’ unaudited accounts for the 12 months to September 30 show net assets of UKP3,000 with pre-tax losses of UKP117,000 on UKP1.8m of turnover. Prestwick says that it anticipates quickly bringing Northumbria into profit, and that the new subsidiary will benefit from Prestwick’s more extensive sales and marketing team, although existing senior managers are being retained.
