Premier unveils tool to analyze hospital supply spending

The Premier healthcare alliance is launching a tool that hospitals and healthcare associations can use to analyze purchasing data and identify savings opportunities.

By CBR Staff Writer

Spend Manager will provide users with dashboard views of their organization’s purchases to provide on-demand access to spend data. Primer says that the tools included within the software have been designed to summarize key data points into a concise, user friendly format that allows users a high degree of data interaction as well as quick access to information.

The company will also include spend data from other organizations within the software, allowing companies to compare and possibly identify cost saving opportunities. Using purchase order data submitted by participating Premier members, Spend Manager allows customers to identify potential savings opportunities and optimize contract utilization.

Susan DeVore, president of Premier Purchasing Partners, said, This tool further illustrates that Premier is leading the industry in offering fully-integrated solutions that leverage our world-class contracts, field support, consulting and technology to enable hospitals to achieve significant savings.
