Prelude Technology Investments, the Cambridge venture capital organisation that specialises in providing seed and development capital to high technology start-up and small companies, is seeking to raise UKP20m for its second fund, and so far has commitments for UKP7m. The initial fund raised UKP6m and invested it in 10 companies, with individual investments ranging from UKP10,000 to prove an idea to UKP500,000 in development capital. The new fund will raise the individual investment limit to UKP1m.
